Steele Sessions
My name is Daniel Steele, I am a freelance session drummer/percussionist based in Glasgow Scotland with over a decade of experience on my instrument and an HND in music performance from Glasgow Clyde College. I have a preference for rock music and its respective sub genres but I pride myself on my versatility as a musician, I can play anything from pop and jazz gigs to performing with orchestral ensembles. I have plenty performance experience in gig nights and festivals all across Scotland and England.
I have released music with multiple different musical outfits and am literate in DAWS with experience in music production, making troubleshooting within a studio setting a breeze or even handling whole recording sessions entirely.
If it isn't drums you are after I also offer services in guitar and sound design via synthesis, sampling and field recording work.
about me
- 13 years experience behind the drum kit and various other percussion instruments. I have been playing guitar for 6 for years along with experimenting with synthesis and sound design, offering technical knowledge that can sonically take tracks to the next level.

- 5 years of music theory classes to ensure a high level of musical literacy when on a job. This guarantees efficiency when working with me. these classes taught me the foundations of harmony and 4 note chords as well and transposing and transcription.
- Recording music of different styles in professional level recording studios has familiarized me with the work flow of the music production environment, with time being of the essence I prioritise putting myself in a position where I can do my job quickly and correctly.
- A decade of experience in general live performance has made me extremely comfortable in these settings especially on drum kit. This experience has taught me how to appropriately prepare for live events and control my nerves, making me a dependable and consistence musician to share a stage with.
- Years of home recording has made me a perfect candidate for remote sessions. Fluency in the popular DAW reaper means i can produce high quality drum tracks tailored to your needs without needing to pay for studio time.
- Fully comfortable in pit arrangements for theatre production.
- 7 years of performing in big band and platinum award winning concert bands making me highly suited to working in large ensembles.
pricing
For sessions I offer an hourly rate of £50 per hour, increasing to £75 an hour if session extends longer than agreed.
Sessions begin at the agreed time of load-in
Adding drum, guitar or sound design elements to multitrack recordings is £70 per track and instrument (guitar + drums for 1 track = £140, for 2 tracks = £280)
